Belt Parkway Bridge over Ocean Parkway, Brooklyn, NY
The Belt Parkway over Ocean Parkway project was completed in one construction season and was a tremendous success. The project was accomplished utilizing the DESIGN-BUILD project delivery method. The project was selected as the NY Metro Area Design-Build project of 2004 by the American Society of Civil Engineers, Metropolitan Section.

The designers chose to use T-Wall® units to retain the abutment embankments. T-Wall® enabled rapid construction, provided versatility for implementing staged construction, facilitated incorporation of the attractive stone facing and provided a “flexible” substructure that could adjust to settlement of underlying soils. Precisely placed piles between T-Wall® stems supported cast-inplace integral bridge seats. The use of precast bridge units, precast retaining walls, precast cap beams, precast bridge parapets and median barrier resulted in a quality project completed in record time.
